Description
In our cities, we can see the garbage bins or dustbins placed at public places are overflowing. It creates unhygienic conditions for people. To avoid all such situations we have implemented a project called Smart dustbin using GSM.
In this project, the dustbin is interfaced with microcontroller based system having 2 ultrasonic sensors. One ultrasonic sensor is used to detect, if anyone comes before the dustbin and automatically open the lid of the dustbin. Here to open the dustbin lid, we have used 180 degree servo motor.
The other ultrasonic sensor which is placed inside the dustbin will continuously monitor the level of waste. If the waste reaches a particular distance inside the dustbin, gsm will send SMS to the nearby corporation office/employee and the status of the dustbin level is displayed in the LCD screen.
